2018 General Local Election for School Trustees

OCTOBER 20, 2018

Complete Nomination Packages are available for pick up at the
School Board Office, 1383 Ninth Avenue Kamloops, BC
between 9:00 AM on July 27, 2018 to 4:00 PM on September 14, 2018.*

The next General Local Election for School Trustees of the Board of Education of School District No. 73 (Kamloops/Thompson) will be held on October 20, 2018.  Elections will be held for the following trustees, for a four (4) year term:

  • Five (5) trustees from Trustee Electoral Area 1 – Kamloops, being the City of Kamloops; and,
  • One (1) trustee for each of the following areas of the Thompson Nicola Regional District:
    • Trustee Electoral Area 2 – North Thompson, including areas “A” Wells Gray Country and “B” Thompson Headwaters, including the District of Clearwater;
    • Trustee Electoral Area 3 – Barriere/Little Fort, including area “O” Lower North Thompson, including the District of Barriere;
    • Trustee Electoral Area 4 – Chase, including areas “L” and “P” Rivers and the Peaks, including the Village of Chase and the Mountain Resort Municipality of Sun Peaks; and,
    • Trustee Electoral Area 5 – Logan Lake, including area “J” Copper Desert Country, including the District of Logan Lake.

Trustee Electoral Area 1 - Kamloops:

Nomination documents for the five (5) trustees representing Trustee Electoral Area 1 - Kamloops  are available at City Hall, 7 Victoria Street West, during regular business hours, Monday to Friday (excluding statutory holidays and weekends) and on the City's website, at, until the close of the nomination period on September 14, 2018.

Trustee Electoral Areas 2, 3, 4, and 5:

Nomination documents for the four (4) trustees representing Trustee Electoral Areas 2, 3, 4, and 5 of the Thompson Nicola Regional District will be available at the School Board Office, 1383 Ninth Avenue, Kamloops, BC from July 27, 2018 to September 14, 2018 from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM Monday to Friday, and on the School District website at

Nominations will only be accepted by Chief Election Officer, Sharon Lyons, or, by Deputy Chief Election Officer, Kelvin Stretch, at the School Board Office from 9:00 AM on September 4, 2018 to 4:00 PM on September 14, 2018.  Please phone 250-374-0679 to schedule an appointment to submit your nomination documents and bring picture ID with you to the appointment.
